Interview with helix

How did you end up being Helix?

Helix is the name I started using when I discovered computer bulletin boards back in the early 80s. With the old systems a short user name was required, and I chose helix. This ended up being my on-line name for years, and is how many of my current friends met me. I chose helix for being a mathematical concept as well as a nice, short name.

What got you started in writing?

My high school creative writing teacher is responsible for my love of writing. He encouraged me to explore writing and creativity at a time when I was feeling like everything had already been done.

How long have you been writing?

I have been actively writing since the mid 80s. Not much published however, I am afraid.

What sort of technical writing do you do?

The bulk of my technical writing is for internal use and has typically been about corporate networks.
I also have a large body of work in the knowledge base articles at my current employer.
Recently I have been more focused on internal training for support of new products.
